Since moving to Bethesda, I have enjoyed many nights at Kusshi. The fish is super fresh, the menu is wide, and the prices are reasonable! There's typically seats available, regardless if you make a reservation, or you can snag a seat at the bar and grab a drink while you wait. Service is hit or miss - lots of super young staff who don't pay you much attention.

I was in the area to meet with my sushi-loving sister. We purposely selected Kusshi because we wanted to go all out and get a sushi boat. Kusshi did not disappoint. The amount of sushi on the boat was just massive and we did our best to finish it between three people, but couldn't. The service was good, parking was a bit tricky, though. Overall a pretty great place. Come hungry!

Kusshi in downtown Bethesda offers an exceptional dining experience with fresh, expertly prepared sushi and generous portions. The chicken katsu, salmon avocado hand roll, sushi roll, dragon roll, and salmon teriyaki were all delicious, with the sushi's freshness and quality standing out. Entrée portions were generous, leaving us with leftovers for the next day, and the pricing was reasonable given the quality and size. The staff were accommodating, and the kid-friendly atmosphere made it perfect for a family outing. For dessert, the mochi was a delightful ending, with the sesame flavor being our favorite. Kusshi seamlessly combines great food, attentive service, and a welcoming ambiance, making it a place we're eager to revisit.

My fiance and I like to come here for happy hour. They have a discount on the seared salmon sushi then, and it's quite good! The salmon melts in your mouth. We've tried other dishes but the seared salmon sushi is always the standout. It's always been quite empty during happy hour so we've never had to wait.

Came to Kusshi for Friday dinner. Packed at dinner time. Three of us ended at the sushi bar, which seemed a little odd, as no one ever joined us at the sushi bar later that evening. But we were in a hurry so it was fine. Apps ordered: grilled chicken yakitori (pretty tasty, on bed of cabbage, lots of sauce and green onion; miso soup, could have been hotter but fine; and last a large seaweed salad which was good for 3. Chef gave us three slices of flame broiled tuna on rice. Entrees were some ala carte sushi, a salmon teriyaki and a chicken teriyaki. Both used the same teriyaki sauce as yakitori which was was disappointing. Chicken even slice for yakitori. Both on bed of veg and a side of regular rice with some sesame seeds, not sushi rice. Salmon was good and plenty of veg. Lots of chicken, but again disappointed that yakitori and teriyaki had same sauce. Staff were attentive. Ordered hot tea which was good. Restaurant was good, not exceptional, have had better.

I thought my brief experience at Kusshi was pretty decent. I stopped by for a quick lunch, and everything met my expectations. In general, I thought the prices were fine relative to the area, and the service was pretty on point. My salmon bento box was very delicious, and my food came out pretty quickly. While I probably would not travel more than 30 minutes to dine here, it is a great spot to drop by if you have a sushi craving while in downtown (I think) Bethesda.

Going to get sushi with your girlfriends means you get to order a boat! The fish was very fresh and everything was delicious. The only problem we had was that the food took a very long time to come out. The restaurant was pretty empty when we went, but it took almost an hour to receive our food. Other than the wait, the food itself was pretty good and the restaurant was pretty clean. Their green tea was nice and strong and complemented the food. My favorite was probably the seared fatty salmon!
